HEMA re-starts May 20th

HEMA re-starts May 20thIt’s been a while, but HEMA re-starts May 20th. On the basis that we are “organised indoor sport and physical activity”  we are able to re-start from 20th May. Debate the definitions of those words as they apply to us in your own time, otherwise see the Sport England guidance below.

Okehampton College Gym is booked for May 20th and 27th, 8.30-10om. This takes us to the next half term break. We will then resume June 10th to the end of the Summer term.

It’s our aim to run beginner’s sessions from June 10th for 6 weeks.

Please launder your kit and continue to wear face coverings until the June 21st end of restrictions or further guidance is issued.

See you then.

[From Sport England Guidance]

Can indoor sport and physical activity take place?

Yes. If the activity is not organised, you must stick to the rules on social gathering, of six people (the ‘rule of six’) or two households.

Organised indoor sport and physical activity is permitted in larger numbers. This means that organised indoor individual and team sport and indoor exercise classes can happen with any number of participants, as long as it’s undertaken in line with Covid-secure guidance and adheres to the capacity restrictions for indoor sport facilities (see FAQ below on sports facilities).

Participants should maintain social distancing when not actively participating.
